Well I couldn't just leave it in the showroom now could I? ................Part II

Very sexy... Me likee :thumb2

What do you think of the tyres? I have those fitted to my GS & love the way they flick & grip in the dry. No tread in the centre also means the rears last flippin' ages. I'm gettting to the stage where I use 2 fronts to each rear :D

I've only ridden it for a couple of hundred miles but find the tyres to be excellent!

I had a pair of the new Dunlop Sprotmax Q2's on my previous MV Agusta which I imported from the states, now they are a big leap forward in tyre performance. (Not to be confused with the existing Qualifyer 2's)

I chuckled when I tripped over this thread, because . . .

. . . I recently agreed to help a guy out by taking this little baby off his hands. It unexpectedly came to my attention recently and as I love the sound of big twins, I just couldn't resist. Collect in 2 weeks.

2007 Factory, 1 careful owner, never dropped, bog standard. Neat.

Very very nice boxerboy ,looking at the tyres its been riden nice and steady too , i was looking at one similar yesterday (and was very tempted ) while looking for an 800gs

Took mine on a track day and was very disappointed that the bike didn't have the ability to corner as fast as me.:blast

Well I absolutely love mine!

It's a complete surprise, Really nicely balanced, incredibly refined () The handling, brakes, suspension and riding position are absolutely superb.
I had an MV Agusta which I sold to bank some money, That was a beautiful bike but it was a pain in the arse to own, uncomfortable to ride with an unbelievable amount of power which was only accessible up in double figures revs wise. I did love it but more for what it was than how much I loved riding it.

In fairness my RSV has been fettled, Power commander, different airbox, quick shifter, full titanium Akrapovic System amongst a few other bits and pieces so in all honesty I don't know what a bog standard one rides like. Mine has been completely bullet proof and hasn't missed a beat (I've done 4k on it now)

Unbelievably it returns nearly 40mpg!!!! (and without wanting to sound like a hero I ride it 'properly')

Be prepared .............. To be really really surprised!

I was .......

Bleedin pain the arse. I bought my GS and the RSV sat in the garage for 6 months before I decided to sell it although I still wish I had it sometimes. :blast

Have fun, don't ride it in winter and make sure the battery's in good condition when you try to start it. Also, keep an eye on the alternator connector behind the right hand front fairing for corrosion: It gets wet and goes high resistance and ruins your alternator and/or rectifier.

BTW Boxerboy, your RH fork looks likes it needs a seal service.

Thats a good tip, a wise investment is a battery with a high cranking ampage. Helps prevent damage to the sprag clutch according to someone I know who works on them regularly......

sprag clutch.

Tis true. Mine never failed but I've know of other owners how've had to spend loads on repairs.

Keep it warm and keep an eye on the brake calipers, both front and rear. The rear is a royal PITA to bleed and change the fluid frequently to prevent perishing of the Brembo master cylinder seals. In fact do that all round and if you fancy it, install bleed nipples into the Master and Slave cylinders to help maintenance.

If you have one take it to Vern's meet on Tuesday I'll show you the ropes, and a stand-up wheelie. :thumb

Crikey that's going to be a tough offer to resist!

You should have just said to him "Bring your daughter down and I'll squeeze her tits!!"
