Thought about doing some sunday ride outs to go and look at a number of the welsh/english border castles. I have an interest in medievil history and so fancy making a few trips out in the new year to have a look at a number of the castles. http://www.castlewales.com/listings.html

Anyone else fancy popping along for the ride and site seeing?

Strata florida..

:rob well I want to do it... and besides its wales, its always an exciting time to be had here.

Wot happened to 'let's explore Strata Florida one night in the dark' and silly things like that.

Be very careful!!!

The idea of motorcyclist on this route, in the dark, during heavy rain periods really scares me.
Please pause for a moment and think about losing your footing whilst nursing your heavy bikes across a very fast flowing swollen river. The water is very cold should you end up in it and gore-tex water logged clothing can cause serious issues should you need to move if sub-merged.
There can be between 15 to 20 water course crossing on this length of lane and between the time you cross the first to the last the river can rise in alarming rates, thus causing you to become stranded.
Mobile phone coverage is poor and the emergency services will take some time to get there.
Please do not underestimate this lane.
A trip to the Border Castles is a safer bet, believe me.
Timpo.

Timpo, where is your sense of humour and adventure. Everything you say is true. I've done this route on two wheels, four wheels and two legs. To try it at this time of year with the rivers at their present levels would be a little foolish to say the least. However, I think you'll find that's Geriatrics comments were made purely in jest. No least he's too bloody old and curmudgeonly to get his RT wet and muddy:D :rob :beerjug:

But remember, if we didn't want to take risks, we wouldn't be riding motorbike in the first place:nono :nono :nono

Yes but..

Will there be tea and cakes:eek:

only if your remember your pipe, your bmw club member ship and have agreed to being a bma member for the insurance.. oh and have your mothers permission to be out..

:D
