Welsh border weekend

anyone else ????

I've never met any of you guys before, so if it's not a closed shop I'd be interested, but I would also understand if it's an "all mates weekend" I'd wait until the next time.:thumb

Excellent, I'll go for the riding, not really into the canoeing millarkey;)

not yet

the two dates in august are still either/or , please put your preferance as I can do both:D :D :D :D

the canoeing one earlier will have to be upto matkat as he (hopefully) can give us novices a bit of tuition aswell

so once again
camping on the side of the wye at preston on wye, just above monnington falls
there is a hotel in moccas owned by one of the guys on the site, don't know about availability
there is a pub just up the road which will do basic food if notified in advance
I could probably borrow the bbq for evening/breakfast meals (very simple )
the toilets and shower block are new and are kept spotlessly clean by the site owner
I will try to get hold of a large water boiler for tea/coffee
I may also be able to get hold of some cheap lager and cider from the bulmers shop, subject to availability
we can have a camp fire to sit around and talk shite
off road ride available if we can find someone who wants to lead one
brecon beacons/black mountain ride all on tarmac but mostly b roads and rhayder dams aren't too far away either
if anyone wants to turn up just for the evenings for a chat and a beer then that's ok
camping £3 ppp/n, the owner didn't want to charge us as I work with him, but I think that we ought to give him something

does anyone else have any ideas ????

could someone put a link to this on the wales site (as I don't know how to)

Cheers

Rob

ps. I've booked the good weather

Up for it

Rob'
We can enlist Garry H. to do a off road ride, someone can do a road ride, then there is Canoeing.
I can work with you on the catering, I can cater for about 12-15 folks with my kit. Open fire cooking sounds good. Sent you a pm, also we can organize some paddling tuition beforehand.................. we could eventually do our own multi day canoe camping trip down the wye. Ideally we need about 4 double canoes and kit.that means about 10 of us could be able to do it. More than 12 folks to unwieldy really:thumb

Liase

for the benefit of matkat :thumb2 :thumb2 :thumb2 :thumb2

maybe some additional dates:thumb :thumb :thumb

Rob

Rob' we can work some additional dates, maybe some day paddles and a weekend for caneoing. I'm happy to run the canoeing at the August weekend if i'm there (school holidays, also Sue and I also have our 10 day break in late August.
Can we have a list of names of whose interetsed in canoeing regardless of this weekend. If people have there own canoes kayaks thats a bonus but I don't want more than 12 folks on the water either in double canoes or kayaks. At least until i've sussed out ability:thumb2
