Having sussed out a load of new trails, I'm up for leading a run.

Sunday 1st October 2006

It will be a GS only do and you'll need to have experience of trial riding as a lot of the trails will be difficult. You'll also need knobblies. More details to follow.

What ya got? the plan is to do hills that are a challenge for GSs, so pogo sticks are out. But if you're on a Varadero, or something equally daft, then maybe.

Are you going up the UCR climbing out of Bamford, Derbyshire?
Went up it with the Land Rover to get to Stanage Edge and there was a fully laden GS1150Adventure on it's side half way to the top.
The 'blokes' that were meant to be on it had carried on up on foot to check the going, and on their return to the machine, looked alittle worried.
I advised them to 180 the bike round and take it back down to the village and use tarred roads to get thenselves and all their climbing gear upto the Edge. The clutch was stinking and I'm sure it wouldn't of took the rest of the lane to see it off.
I'll have to get hold of a cheap R80 and knobblie it up. Timpo

More scoping today - The Steps of Doom!

Went out for another blast today - got soaked on the way home. Took in this trail - done it downwards before (tricky) and did it upwards today (v difficult). Thank heavens for millstone grit - grippy as velcro covered bluetack.

May do this hill down on the run nect week.
