I understand you have to pay to park a bike in Westminster - but only during wot Westminster CC refer to as 'hours of control'.

Can anyone tell an out of towner whether Sat and Sun is outside hours of control?

And wot the hours are if so - around Trafalgar Sq?

And if I can park free from say Sat afternoon to Sun evening, do I still need to register for a permit? :aidan

As you ride/drive into a zone, you'll see (not often in my case!) a pair of signs indicating the controlled times.

Have a look at the parking restictions for cars on a nearby meter. They can vary from street to street.

Saturday morning is usually controlled; Sat afternoon and Sunday might be.

thanks for the reply.

I guess I'll need a permit but I can't see the point for wot will probably be a one off visit in the next 12 months.

There's a good secure car park at N51 29.970 W0 06.932, just over Westminster Bridge. A very difficult one to find if you don't know it's there.

IIRC we paid £10 for 24 hours parking. :thumb2

Why pay £10 when you can pay £4?

Actually ... register to pay by phone here

And then park here for £1.50 a day .. same as the street bays!

This is only a minute walk from T Square!
