had one of these isolating rubbers fall apart on the accessory instrument pod on my G/S at the weekend. BMW don't sell them separately and want over £70 for the pod.

i guess that i might get some from a motor factors, but it would help if i knew what they are called. are they silentblocs?
i think something similar might be used to attach later GS bash plates :nenau

maybe someone here knows?

TIA

they're M6 BTW.

They look identical to the ones used on the radiator of my Beta trials bike. Will have a look back how much they were, certainly much less than you were quoted.

At first glance I thought they were the same as my GS1100 sumpguard mounts but I've dug out my spares and they're shorter:

Overall length 40mm, rubber bit 10mm, M6 threads
If shorter would do, Motorworks sell them.

Failing that, I've glued them together in the past using 2 pack contact adhesive designed for sticking wetsuits together (ordinary evostick would probably do) - makes a very good bond as long as you clean them up well first.

Metelastic Bushes

Nope.

Metalastic bushes consist of a metal outer and an inner metal sleeve (bush) bonded together with the rubberised material.
The outer part will sit within a housing and a bolt will go through the inner sleeve (bush).

Cookie wants anti vibration mounts.

Many thanks for putting me straight:D ya fekkin knowall:aidan

And we all know what Mr Cookie wants but the likelyhood of the Minogue sisters joining him in the shower is slim

Part 02 says M8, part 03 probably the same IIRC

thanks for the info.

i can't glue it back together because, i can't think of a glue that would support the weight of a clock + pod wobbling about on it, and more importantly, the rubber got fecked during protracted removal negotiations.

one point some have missed, is that it is male one end and female the other ;)
