Following the sad loss of my gorgeous husaberg I am due to get my insurance pay out.

Needs to be good at road work, needs an ignition key and must be handy off road.

I can off road the 1150, so I'm not scared of something bigger than a 250.

I think I'd prefer something that was slower but a bit more bullet proof.

Post links to anything you've seen or let me know what's in ya garage :thumb

Quite fancy a 640 adv but too dear:blast

What about a Yamaha TT600R, early versions, 1998 onwards, had no electric start and decent suspension and later ones had leccy starrt but cheaper suspension. First big single I've owned and have found it great fun in all situations. Bought mine in February for 1500 euros in France. Would have preferred an XR650R but you can't pick them up over in France for that kind of money. Have seen them in the UK for about 2k.

Cheers Phil

Yammie xtz750. But probably no lighter than your 1150. Or maybe a 660z. Dr400??

Been contemplating this for a bit myself, keep coming back to a XT660r

I keep.coming back to the drz, ttr600 or an xt660r

I have seen a nice xr650 but it's a kicker and not sure whether they are any good.

Drz limited for comfort and road use. Ttr kick only if you want the ohlins and limited fuel range without an aftermarket tank. XT same as a Tenere but lower and lighter with more suspension travel though clearance is less due to exhaust routing. Xchallenge or xcountry is too pricy for me

Feck, thank God your following my posts Johnny...I'm easily confused these days :D

XL650R is what I'm selling ( just putting it on Gumtree today )... then again it may be to much for Flip to handle !!:hide

Went with a 2700 mile drz400e in the end. Plastics are a bit rough, but mechanically it's lovely.
Respring on it's way though cause it is sprung for my left leg only:augie:D

Just bought this, pick up next week - they're out there

I bought a one owner 02 xt6oo early in the year with 975miles on it. yes 975miles in 11 years. I did just over 100 miles on it and thought it was to good to use for a green laner so I sold it and bought a Kawasaki 650klr. I would of had a xt660r but they were a bit more than what my budget was.
