I'm still trying to figure out the best setting for the after market (racing) exhaust.

Reading in the Google results: by removing the Cat Code Plug (CCP) it goes to "CO-Pot required" mode. So I did installed the CO-Potentiometer after removing CCP, but adjusting the CO-Pot almost makes no difference. How can you tell if the mixture is lean or not, from the looks of the sparks? :nenau

It looks like it has lots of fuel consumption with CO-Pot mode, nomatter where i adjust it - to maximum or minimum setting, or something inbetween. It has lost a bit low end power but gained some mid and loads of high end power. It's seems to run hot - 5 bars temperature riding on few degrees above freezing point weather with no radiator blinding on. Running rich? But as i sayed, adjusting the CO-Pot (i did Motronic reset after every adjustment as well) makes no apparent difference...

Or am i getting something wrong here - maybe there's some better setting - i.e. using some CCP setting together with CO-Pot, or it's not possible?

So what's your CCP and/or CO-Pot settings on your 1100GSes?

The bike runs relatively well mind with CO-Pot, but the fuel consumption worries me.

Me aiming to low- and mid power & less fuel consumption.

Thanks in advance, Margus

The CO pot is for adjusting the mixture at tick-over, it has no real effect above this area.
You should be trying each of the 8 or 9, pre-programmed maps available in the Motronic system, (with coding plug changes, or using wire links), to see if any are correct for your set-up.
If not, you'll have to introduce a Techlusion or similar.
I tried exactly this on my 1100GS and found that running without a coding plug gave the best results, but it wasn't perfect.

My aussie 1100 - 97 - has no lambda and i've put a straight thru Laser pipe on it.

The CO pot does nothing at all for you.

The code plug i'm using is the original beige one. Works fine, maybe slightly rich at the tailpipe.

If you're is hot - its lean. Excess fuel will make it run cooler ( slightly ).

Plug checks should be done under load at the revs/throttle position you're interested in - hold the setting then kill the motor on the kill switch and pull the clutch in.

You'll need a good 10 sec steady state run for the plugs to change colour.

Ta guys!

Will do further experimens then with different CCP settings to get better mileage and low-mid range... I'll probably ride the bike to CO-measuring MOT place to see if that CO-pot adjusting really makes any difference or not.

Cheers, Margus
