My engine is suffering from some corrosion under the silver paint; I want to touch it up but don't know what to use; neither did the dealer apart from saying "paint it black, that doesn't come off".
Does anyone know what to use?
Most of the corrosion is around the oil drain plug and other places where stones have chipped it.

Halfords used to do it in silver but they don't anymore

I know a place that does a perfect match in heat resistant paint, only £2 a litre aerosol can; ----

just remembered -- they've stopped selling it as well !!!!!!

I bought some silver from Halfords quite recently, it might still be worth you having a look there!:)

Engine Paint

I'll check out Halfords and also the smooth Hammerite (I've only used the hammered finish before and on car wheels. I don't want a spray can as it is too difficult to apply to small areas; I'd rather stipple it on. need to stop the ally corrosion before painting though!

Didn't someone once say that smooth Hammerite (silver) is an almost perfect match??

Probably me, touched up the barrels on mine with it. Couldnt tell the difference after about a week, blends in just nice and is heat resistant to boot. :D

yeh - greta for Forks - but it's not "high temp" - unless it say's on the tin - 600F - I believe

Wouldn't have thought that anything other than an exhaust would exceed 600F on a bike engine?

Whoops! Just seen Panzer's post! :)
