Hi all,

I am new to Boxer and have recently order a new 2014 GS1200 LC.
I can still configure the options and is still doing research. Currently I have selected 2 of the packages that consist of most things.

The 'Touring' package included ESA, On board computer pro, Prep for GPS and Cruise control is the most expensive among the packages. I am trying to optimise the spending as I do not really need the Prep for GPS and can also do without the cruise control.

So what does ESA actually do? I only know its suppose to adjust the suspension electronically. But what happens after the suspension is gone after a few years? How is the non-ESA on the 2013 LC?

And the On Board computer pro? What does it actually do?

I am likely to go for the spoke wheels if i can save on the above package.

If you value wire wheels over the Touring package (because not to select it saves you cash and you don't want most of the package's bells and whistles) just do it. You do not need a second opinion, as nobody else is spending your money.

Have a look through all the posts. Some bods like the ESA, some don't. Some fear the cost of future repair, whilst other don't mention it * .Some fellows love the IWheel, the GPS and the whole computer thing (though it does seem to confuse several of them) others think it is rubbish. In short, two camps each swearing by (or swearing at) the same product. They are no better than you.

So, just decide for yourself. You can do it; you are halfway there already.

* Though you can be sure that several of them will be asking about the relative value of extended warranty in two years time. You can also be sure that several owners will not be keeping the bike so long that the (possible) failure of the suspension is ever going to be an issue.
