It was supposed to be shown at the NEC, then at the Intermot in KOLN, then EICMA in MILAN....then ....it disappeared from the "intelligence". :spitfire

Do some of you Gents have any scent on what's going on?

I hear no more "rumors"...is it good or bad?

Any "more or less" reliable pics around?

To me, the coming out of the latest three models (GX, X moto and the other chopper like...) did not seem a gain at all....:eek

Cheers

who said it was going to be shown at the NEC... or Intermot... or Milan... I don't think BMW did. Chinese whispers my friend.

PS. Do you want to start a rumour;)

Well if you were looking for a smaller, lighter enduro/tourer than the 1200GS, the G650 Xcountry isn't much good, so there's a definite gap in the market to be filled.

I can't see what BMW is doing with the G650s, if anything I should have thought they would be better going lighter and smaller capacity--400/450cc. If there was something at that spot I can imagine a quite a few GSers getting a 400/450 as a second bike instead of other manufacturers'.

it,s no rumour , dr,herbert diess ,the head of BMW,S motorcycle division said in an interview wth motorcycle sport and leisure , yes we are working on an F800gs which will fill the gap in our range between the 650 dakar and the 1200gs . he also said that he could not give a definate date for it,s release as they are still working on it . the F800GS ,if they get it right ! would make a great deal of sense to me , a lot of us of would love a do it all bike somewhere between the 650 dakar [old, not enough power ] and the big 1200gs [ too bloody big and bulky , not to mention, expensive ] i am prepared to wait .:thumb2 .

The last thing I read about it was in The Mole in MCN, a few weeks ago I think. It claimed the 800GS is ready for launch as soon as production capacity is available - interpret that how you will!

I am likewise keen to see the 800GS and hopefully a new 650GS at some point too...

I guess the marketing boys are seeing how the F800 S(T) is doing in the sales charts before they drop this one in the marke. Or they're waiting untill GS12 numbers are waning a bit, because F800GS may eat the sales nrs of the 12GS....

I can't wait for it.
I think it would be an ideally placed product. You see scramblers and funbikes appear everywhere. For travellers and sunday riders, the weight and flickability of a 650 with a bit more ooomp would do the trick. Also, there's no other company witha bike in that range.

I see bikes from a perspective that allows my girlfriend to ride the bike as much as myself, that can travel distant places and be heaps of fun going there. To me the 12GS is simply a bit too much. Our 650 is fine, but a bit more engine would make it rrrraaaoow

So bring it on!
