hi i just wondered if any body has used an fm transmiter for their i pod or similar? i have a 4th gen 30gb ipod that i would like to here out off my lorrys stereo. any good ones out there? thanks:thumb2

If your using it in a truck I am guessing that you are doing a fair distance, that being the case you will have to retune the frequency fairly often and this becomes a pain. (unless anyone has found a frequency that works) If you go abroad it seems to work fine as I guess the population is less dense and therefore have less local radio.

I am now thinking about one of those cassette thingies with the cable unless anyone has a better suggestion how to hard wire it to the stereo.

IMO the cassette converters is better as you can still hear the traffic news on the car music machine :)

I'd also recommend a cigarette powered one as they can eat batteries, and it's quite expensive unless you use rechargeable ones, and they go flat even quicker :thedummy

I got one from Halfords made by Senda. you can plug in your memory stick and it will play directly from it. Really cool, use it all the time.

I use the Kensington RDS FM Transmitter

It uses the RDS system to scroll the track info across the front of the car stereo. When I bought it it was £50 - i see that it's down to £20 on amazon.

It also charges the iPod as you use it.

Sound is excellent.

Have you got 12v in your lorry? - I thought they were 24v

yes it is 12v on the cig lighter but the rest is 24v. interesting product i will test my light socket before i buy anything caus i have feeling its not working:blast. thanks or replys:thumb2
