Afternoon. have been looking a Touratech, Wunderlich, NippyNorma, Cymarc etc websites and my how things have moved on since I had my 1150GS as to the kit you can get and fit........

I am interested in kit to protect the bike and all the wide open electrical bits.....ESA, ASC, Injectors, plus kit to keep crud off the bike such as a hugger, crud catcher, fender extender etc and finally kit to keep crud and wet off me........... any thoughts? Don't want to / cannot spend loads wading through the various catalogues so all suggestions gratefully received, tia, ease of fitting for items suggested is vital Chris

IMO all you need is a fender extender up front and a mudsling on the back and that's it. The rest is just bling ;)

Fender extender, mudsling and a Cymarc front crud catcher is all I've fitted to my TB and all I will be fitting :) Leaves pennies for petrol :D

Couple of old tennis balls make excellent protectors for the injectors......If you have a good look round the local park or even the tennis courts you should be able to find some that aren't too chewed up by Mazies spaniel!

Cut them open and attach with a couple of zipties and jobs a good un and you'll also gain huge kudos with your mates for having the 'pennytech sh*tkicker look'.....!

Don't do what I do and buy almost evrything from the Touratech catalogue........Fender extender and crud catcher are a good enough start although i've got side panels, sidestand enlarger, rear mudguard extender, bigger sumpguard, mainstand protector, swing arm crash bung, cadarn cover and frame covers.........! The things starting to weigh in about as much as a full grown elephant!

Top of the list of necessities.....Head guards (stantons/Steptoes or even touratwat) followed by bash plate, then maybe centre stand slide plate for bigger rocks. Steering lock protector....cable ties and some tread blocks from a TKC, but not convinced of the necessity to do even that.

TPS protector.....sensible but not entirely necessary, same with most other blingy bits.

Crudcatcher and fender extender? Should have got a different bike if these even feature in the list

Ah yes - no one should be allowed to buy a GS unless they are going to go off road every single day and cross the Gobi Desert at least once every month :blagblah:blagblah:blagblah:D
