Hi, I've got the lowered GS, low seat & ive lowered the seat by making my own cams. However the seat after a couple of hours is not too comfortable. Touring in the Alps I used an Airhawk which added some height & in addition was not that comfortable, so I'm looking for another seat:
The BMW Low seat, all of them seem to be shaped the same.
Wunderlich low seat looks well cut, not as curved.

I know some on here have tried a couple of seats & suggest that some of the low seats are shaped too wide so don't assist at all.

So, what would you recommend as a low seat that isn't so low that there is not sufficient foam in it & shaped better than the BMW seats that seem to tip you forward.

Hope you can assist.

Tried the BMW low seat, the Touratech low "Comfort" seat and finally the Sargent Low seat which i have stuck with. This is the second Sargent seat I have fitted to 2 different bikes and still like it the best - wider seat pan which spreads the 'load':D .
Someone will be along some to offer some other option.:thumb

I have the lowered GS with the low seat.

Looking for a low cost option I bought one of these

And have it under a sheepskin cover.
8000 miles a year including Scotland to Russia and back in a fortnight.
Overall this seems to work pretty well, looks "adventurous" and only cost £40

I had the Sargent low seat for a while and hated it, especially as the edge of seat dug into my thigh and aggravated my sciatica. The stock low seat seems to have bedded in now and I don't find it uncomfortable anymore, even during long days in the saddle on tour.

I looked at low seat options when I thought I would need a lower GSA. I tried a couple of seat modifiers and both said they could do it but any seat reduction would effect comfort. Out of interest wouldn't adding adding gel pads and sheepskin covers increase the seat height and negate the effect of having a low seat in the first place?

Hi

The gel pad is 1/4 inch thick and the sheepskin maybe less when squashed !

I only bother with them on a longer trip as the stock seat is bedded in and I cancelled the diet
