What program will open a png file

I recieved an email today from one of the guys I was on Enduro Himalaya with and he had attached an image with a png file extention. Does anyone know which programs will vieww this as the normal Microsoft ones on't seem to recognise it!!

Try opening it in Internet Explorer or Firefox if you have it. Whatever you're using to view this page

Should work unless you're using an old browser.

If your want to open and manipulate the image http://www.gimp.org/ is a free software package that should cope with PNGs.

Thanks guys,
I had to save it to my desktop and then load it from Internet Explorer before I could see it. Low and behold it was a pic that I had pasted in my note to him after all that...
