What's app android to iPhone

I am trying to transfer my what's app chat history and groups from an android to an iPhone.

I have used the IOS transfer app to get most date across but I struggling with what's app. The app is freshly installed same phone number and back ups are current on the android.

I cannot restore chat history or see the groups I belong to. Any suggestions ?

There are 3rd party apps being pushed on you tube to do this but I'm reluctant to download them.

Hi, Yes thats one of the 2 apps I came across. It may be a last resort, but I think I'm doing something wrong.

Theres a back up in the cloud but I cannot encourage it to download. Really annoying ...

Here's what I was told from a well informed person,

Cross platform switching is not possible. This is by default a limitation of end to end encrypted platforms because the requirements/ data schema aren’t the same across different platforms.

So there are 2 apps (£+) that say they can do this. Both have mixed reviews. I ended up just asking groups to reinvite me. The chat history and media remains on my old phone.

Yes it may be possible to transfer whats app data android to IOS but I didn't find it.
