whats in a shock rebuild

what is involved in a shock rebuild anyone know
reason i am asking is i have a pair of adv shocks to fit to my 1150 over the winter and i was wondering if it would be worthwhile having them rebuilt as i have them off at the mo don't want to waste money if i don't have to ,,they seam clean enough and from what i can see aren't leaking but they cam from an 03 70k bike ...any thoughts anyone ...cheers gord

New oil, seals and gas and maybe bushes if the old ones are worn or soft. And a new rod if the old one is worn.
