F800GS to 900 or 950cc, three cylinders. The crank already has a central 'throw' for the reciprocating balance weight. Another conrod and piston wouldn't really be a problem and wouldn't make it much wider. Wouldn't even want a balancer with three cylinders and 120° crank throws :D

It would be a cracker :thumb

Yeah it might have the potential crank capacity but no infrastructure above it for an additional cylinder. I reckon BMW might have enough bods in the technical department to build a new 3cyl from scratch ;)

Along with Porsche and Harley Davidson, how do you replace an engine synonymous with the marque? You don't, until there's no options left to play.
Porsche tried it with the 928, Harley with the V-Rod and BM with the brick. The boxer will be around for quite a while yet in one form or another.

Oh yes it would... Ask Triumph :rob

I've ridden the Triumph, and a pal with one agrees with me .... the F800GS is actually a better engine and pulls much better :D

Nowt to do with the bods in BMW's technical department, it's designed and built by Rotax :D

Not really a fan of the triumph but my brother's tiger800 and son's street triple are a lot smoother and pull well compared to the bag of nails f800s i had. I love the gs.:D
