Ive heard rumours that a new dealership will be coming to South Wales. Anyone heard any more, or when this dealer is to be appointed?
Whats the latest on a BM dealer setting up in South Wales?

AFAIK there isn't a BMW dealer in Wales - let alone South Wales. 
I heard a rumour that one was due to be set up in Swansea, but not heard anymore about it since.
For my servicing, I've been using Mike Pearce (a former Rydales mechanic) in Cardiff.

Thanks TAFF. I was told on the BM stand at the WEC that one was coming to south wales soon! Be great if its Swansea. My Xch is due for its annual service, so I must make contact with Mike @ C'diff.

Wales dealer.
I phoned head office bmw about swansea dealership, they said no plans for one. On bmw stand at n.e.c show they told me they were opening dealership in swansea. i.ll take their info with a pinch of salt next time!

There is (or soon will be) a dealer in North Wales,my sources tell me the BWM are looking to appoint a dealer and start trading in South Wales as soon as possible with Cardiff being the 1st choice of location

I think i would prefer a spin to BVM.stroud than ride into cardiff.
Went there for my last service-very good too,good service-great price and a BMW stamp in the book

the strongest rumor in the area is that m&p's are having a dealership?....

Just got back from the D2D - spoke to the guys on the BM stand - still not confirmation as to who or where.

Yes really frustrating not having a dealer, I bought my GS from CW in Dorchester and take it back for service which I dont mind too much as they lend me another bike and Dorset and the South Coast is a nice days ride.....however, it's now due an ignition recall so I have to do a 200+ mile round trip to have it done

Again, many rumours! M&P, JTs, even Trainerbmw, all in Swansea area. However, would cost arm and leg to set up a Franchise to meet BMWs high expectation/standards.
I shall carry on having my bike serviced by Mike Pearce in Cardiff.Well happy with him.

If MCN is to be believed,as from 2009 all us adventure bike fans will have a much bigger choice of bikes.I think my 1200GSA is brilliant,but I am seriously cheesed off with the lack of dealer support in Wales,a country which has arguably the best biking roads in the UK.I spoke to someone on the BMW stand in last years NEC show,who told me that there would be a dealer in South Wales within 6 months.I am now looking forward to comparing and test riding the 1200 super tenere,RC8 engined KTM,AND 1200 Aprilia

What a suprise! Its all your fault!! Bringing that bike down to my house! Ive now had to sell the Dakar (it went last Sunday
to what I hope is a good home in Liverpool) Buyer seemed well pleased. Ive now got to sell the C15 so I can prepare myself for my biggest ever biking purchase. I NEED a 08 adv!
However Im a bit concerns about the ews/fuel controller issues. Spoken to BVM, seem to offer me a better deal than Bath rd. Just got to convince the Mrs G now

Yep, got to go to Bristol 
on 17th to get software updated as my mats are sick and fed up of waiting 1 or 2 mins whilst I wait for system to boot up on the (05) 1200 and can turn on the autocom, radio and satnav, other wise they shut off after about a min.
Use Mike in Cardiff , but he cannot do software updates.
Me thinks they will struggle to get anyone at this time to commit to opening a new site for bikes, credit crunch and all that.
