whats whitebox ?

found a site from a link on here selling gps , there a lot cheaper than most ,but described as whitebox ,what does that mean

factory referb would be the closest explanation

If it's a garmin and if it's from somewhere reputable like GPS warehouse you won't go far wrong

also known as NOH.
NEWLY OVERHAULED UNIT.
whilst saving are to be had, you must remember the unit is used or ex repair and refurbished so should be a lower price, also whatch for listings in ebay, amazon and web sellers as they put NOH/WHITE BOXin places that are not always easy to spot.
having said all of the above i have had 3 garmin units that were noh/white box and have had no problems :thumb

I would agree, pentagon gps qiute frankly are the biggest shits I have ever dealt with, and thats even after a vindaloo, do not touch them, I bought mine as a whitebox from handtec, based in peterborough. I paid £351.33. Has the latest maps, and managed to install latest updates.
Only problem which i had was registering it because it had been registered to garmin before, but an e.mail to garmin and within 2 days had it sorted.

The phone number is 08456447727, ask for handtec.
or www.handtec.co.uk
or email [email protected]

Hope that helps, cheers.
