Wheel balancing

My local tyre garage no longer balances motorcycle wheels. They do not supply bike tyres but will fit them on a loose wheel if he knows you. Someone pointed me towards Dyno beads. Tiny little beads that are loose and balance the wheel whilst on the move. OK sounds like a good way to get rid of the stick on weights. I have seen favorable reports on searching the web. My only concern is with these beads rolling around inside the tyre whilst traveling at 70mph, how long will the TPS last. Have you tried them?. Any info would be helpful.

Bike wheel balancers are cheap to buy and it's very easy to do.

I change my own bike tyres and never had a problem balancing them to.

Same here... Buy a balancer for a good price and sort your own... You can buy or rig up kit to balance rear wheels too...

You can buy strips of self-adhesive metal weights in 5/10/20/40g from General Traffic or ECP.

Bought a cheap balancer from eBay, now just waiting for the rear wheel adapter. I've also ordered soap and a box of mixed stick on weights. I used to always fit and balance my own tyres but as old age crept in, i got lazy.

Ha ha... Didn't say I still fit the tyres... I let a local tyre guy do this now for a few quid and a lot less swearing and no bloody knuckles... I fitted my own for quite a few years but a handful of pia tyres sorted that... Now I just balance his handiwork...

I fitted the tyres myself. The front being harder them the rear. Managed to balance them too on my cheap eBay balancer. It all took about an hour. Once the PR4 was off i could see how badly squared off they were. From the stack of paperwork, i found the receipt for the tyres and from the mileage, it shows the tyres have covered just under nine thousand miles. These were fitted on 09/2017. These were fitted by BMW in North Oxford along with MOT and full service.

Is nine thousand miles the usual for a pair of PR4?
