We've got a couple of F650GSs on hire in the USA early July. Could someone please tell me what size sockets and spanners are needed to get both wheels out? I'd like to take tools enough with us to repair punctures.
Thank a lot.

19 and 24mm spanner for the rear wheel, t45 for the chain tensioners. I think its a t45 for the front wheel but i'm not entirely sure without going and looking. I'll go check :D

For the rear you'll need a 19 and 24 for the axle,a T40 for the chain adjusters and a T25 for the 'possum scraper'.
The front axle needs an 8mm allen and from memory a T40 for the pinch bolt.I've replaced the pinch bolt with a cap screw on mine so I'm not positive about the size.

Edit:Must type faster........

nearly right, just been out and checked my 06, no possum scraper on mine :D

19mm + 24mm spanner for rear axle.
t40 for chain adjusters
t45 for front axle clamp bolt
8mm hex key for the front axle.

If i were you I'd take a set of torx keys, a set of alan keys and the two spanners. Most fasteners on the bike are torx but there is the odd hex key thrown in for good measure :blast
Really surprised the hire place don't supply the tools :nenau

Many thanks. That's everything I need to know.

Although a T25 looks a bit small.

As for the hire company supplying the tools. In my experience they take most, if not all of them out because they go missing. Then tell you to phone for arssistance.

If you want your eyes to vibrate, try riding a KTM600LC4. Worse than double vision.
