Just had rear tyre replaced at my local garage who up until now have been great dealing with my bikes
Washed it yesterday and noticed damage to the back wheel. Can only have happened during the tyre change as I washed the bike a few days beforehand and it wasn’t there then.
I’ll be sorting this out with the garage owner when he reopens on Tuesday.
They’ve removed the paint and scratched the metal. Not so bad as a gouge but still unsightly. Can this be repaired? Anybody had any experience of this kind of thing in the past?

Cheers.

If I had caused it I would use satin lack paint, if as it seems it is due to a cack handed tyre fitter you want it back to the condition prior to their cock up

Yup, back to the tyre fitter. Looks pretty obvious it’s been caused during removal or refitting. I always check rims once new boots are fitted for that very reason, that and make a quick video before it goes in. Bit extreme but it saved my bacon with the wife’s Mini and some mobile tyre fitter.

The rims the least of your worries what's happened to that spoke in the photos ! Looks like some one's had their mole grips round it !
Ian.

I think they are water droplets.

Where in Leicestershire are you Ian?

This is why I always go to my dealer for tyres, the first bike in 30+ years to have done so. Only slightly dearer but I sit and drink filter coffee while someone else does the whole job, well worth the money and no damage to the rims or the TPMS sensors.

I'm sorry for your damage you must be gutted

Easy enough to touch in; annoying though.

BTW, is it the angle of the image? - the bead doesn't appear to sit evenly
