where are those GS's I can afford

Been tossing and turning and thinking and stretching the budget, but I can't afford more than 3500 quid. I don't seem to find a decent GS for that kind of money. 1150gs seem to fetch at least 5000, 1100gs are seldom for sale. Seems I will have to broaden the search e.a go for a Triumph Tiger. I did the skills course one and loved the little F650 but prefer the bigger lump for the motorway. (commute 70mi a day).

I'm not a GS owner (yet) so don't feel qualified to advise, but from what I can gather they are one of the lowest depreciating bikes on the market so although you'll spend more, you should lose less in the long run.

Anyway - that'll be my justification when I spash out...

Damage repairables

If you are fixed to a tight budget but want a GS, why not concider a damaged repairable salvage machine.
I have done the same in the past and if you buy a machine that has only cosmetic/superficial damage, use the machine until money becomes available to buy the parts to make it pretty again.

Had exactly the same problem - but there are bikes out there, and in good nick too. My old 1150 went to a gentleman of this parish for £4,750 with Caja panniers and all the goodies.

But now I've seen the light and bought an airhead...
