where do i find stored unlock codes

I have lost my unlock codes for my version 6/7 and 8 .

I have the discs and the srial numbers but cannot find the paper i had them on anywhere.

I thought they are stored on the pc somewhere in the garmin file but i cannot seem to find them.

anyone got a clue please as i have installed on laptop but cannot unlock.

mapsource has a utility to backup unlocks. it's in the menu somewhere.

it creates a file which can be transferred to your other pc and used to unlock newly installed maps there.

If you've registered it Mapsource will be able to retrieve them for you.

Another way is to create a myGarmin account - just go to the website and click on the link. It'll show you all the units you own/have registered and also enable you to download/print unlock codes etc.

So long as they're installed and unlocked you can see the unlock codes for your mapping in Mapsource. In the menu go 'Utilities' > 'Unlock Maps' > 'Next', select 'view my installed lock codes' and then > 'Next' then select the mapping and click 'Properties'.

Now write them down...
