Hi All,

I'm in West London (Hammersmith/Ealing) and having trouble finding places that stock TKC 80s - Anyone know where I can get some fitted please?

Thanks,
David.

Watling Tyres in Swanley, Kent.

I ordered mine yesterday, they were delivered within 4 hours and are being fitted today.

And they didn't ask for payment upfront.

I rdered mine from Sidcup Motorcycle tyres and they were in stock the next day.

Had them fitted and balanced - just two weeks ago, at a total cost of £211.00 incl VAT:eek:

When I had the last ones fitted (two years ago) the price iirc was around £150.00.

HTH,

Phil

You need tyres :nenau That garage floor of yours must be very abrasive :D

Good to hear from ya me aul fruit ;)

Found my local Conti dealer from http://www.conti-tyres.co.uk, ordered from them for less than the likes of Busters or MandP ( same company?). Fitted by myself.

The first one took a huge amount of swearing :thedummy, effort :handbag and an hour and a bit. The next one took about 20 minutes ....

Hardest part was keeping the rim protectors in place. The GSA rims are too fat for "normal" motorycle ones.

It is very satisfying to know you can do it yourself

That's my fallback option... Busters will deliver the pair for just under £150, but if I can get them fitted for a little bit more I can save myself the time and hassle... I can fit tyres but am by no means the best/fastest in the world!

I'll check out the Conti site to find a local dealer - Thanks.

I was given a new pair for free by Vines of Guildford (my dealership) once they found out about my trip in '06......

So drop a hint to your dealership and see what they say........:thumb

MICHELDEVER TYRES, if you can last 2 weeks they are at the HOGRAOST 2008 in Andover 4-5 July, no charge to visit the weekend, they have there OUT DOOR tyre changing factory, that was to be at BEAULIEE SHOW.

I advertised on the for sale & wanted section for used ones and got 5 tyres all with good tread for £87 delivered from two different members.
Two off them are almost new and the rest have lotsa tread still. Changed them myself a coupla times in the last month as I switched from "off" to "on" road use.
I now have a spare set of wheels, also from forum members (£145 total) so I don't have to keep swapping tyres. One set with Tourance's and one with TKC's.
Just need a spare set of discs and ABS ring now so I don't have to keep changing those.

Watling Tyres charged me £146 for 2 TKC's fitted and balanced on loose wheels yesterday.

Seemed a pretty good deal to me.

Except that it seems whoever fitted the front wheel axle last time f@cked the thread.

It wasn't me ! It was already damaged before I removed it. I had great difficulty unscrewing it. Now it is impossible to refit.

Not happy.

This is NO fault of Watling Tyres, it is probably a different tyre fitter where I had the previous set fitted. But how can I prove that.

So now I have a nice new set of TKC's on a bike I cannot ride :(

HBG tyre studio in Ruislip.

A40 to Polish War Memorial junction, head north past the memorial, and up to lights (100 m) turn right and it 30 m on the left, if they don't have them in its 24 hours notice and they will change them on the bike, check but I think if you get a pair done they don't charge for the fitting, fitting to a loose wheel is always free. Not the cheapest in the world but not the most expensive either.

Failing that BEWLEY MOTORS OF HARROW, 020 8909 1569 101 KENTON ROAD HARROW HA3 0AN
they have just started doing bike tyres and are very competitive at the moment, again they can get them in at 24hrs notice if not in stock. I used them last time I got a tyre and they are pretty good, I think they charge £10 for fitting on the bike and nothing if wheel is loose.

Both are pretty close to you, no more than 30 min

Great! Now I'm overloaded with options.

Thanks for all the suggestions... Can't believe I hadn't thought of looking on Ebay!

Bakes - I am registering for the Hograost today, and had seen that Micheldever were going to be there, but after I did the BMW level 1 course I went via Salisbury plain on the way back and put some large holes in my battlewings that slime won't fix so I don't know if I can wait.

Thanks all,
keep the tips coming!

David.
