Poking around under the set today and noticed a cracked hose. On the fiche it just says "Hose - LG=900mm". I'm assuming it's 900 mm long - got to use the post graduate brain sometimes , but I'm not sure what it is or where it ends.
I was thinking of attaching some string and pulling the old hose out the reversing the procedure for the new once I know where it ends.
What type of hose have you used as a replacement?
Any tips appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

Err fuel tank vent.... I think

Yes, correct. The other end of the hose is open to atmosphere down near the back/bottom of the engine.
The white device has a non-return valve in it which allows air to flow in as tank level drops but if bike is dropped on it's side, the valve will not let fuel spill out.

If you can see the bottom end, tie string to it. Pull pipe off the valve. Turn round and refit.
Alternatively just cut off the perished end at the valve and push back on.:thumb2

When you replace the hose, put an 1" split in the bottom end of the hose.

this should help it from clogging up with shite, which then means your fuel pump won't be able to implode your petrol tank.

And it's a bugger to get the filler cap off if there is negative pressure behind it.
