Where have all the 1150s gone?

Mine in silver picked it up a few weeks back from this forum.

1150

What a beauty, is that taken in cheddar gorge by any chance:D

Had mine now for 19yrs - bought a 2000 model in 2001. I had an R80GS before it, got to 102k miles and replaced it as I needed reliable transport for commuting to work. Then 3mths later, I was transferred to an office 3 miles from home and it became a toy. I tried a 1200 when they launched and was unimpressed, so I’ve never bothered since.

Everyone knows that black is fastest, so here’s mine in its preferred environment...:green gri

Still have my 2002 single spark bought in 2004 with 5k on it, non abs, ridden regularly. 70k on it now. 5 other bikes have come and gone in the meantime :)

There weren’t as many sold as you might think. I remember seeing the sales figures for the 1200 versus the 1150 after a couple of years of being on sale and it was a massive difference. From memory by the time LWR was broadcast the 1200 was on sale and that model benefited from the success of the show , not the 1150 as it was now defunct.

The 1150 was on sale for about 5 years ? But I’m pretty sure the 1200 had outsold it within 2 and massively out sold it in the end.

1150 was sold from 1999 to 2005 (as the GS adventure incarnation)
1150 GS stopped in summer 2004

There is a way to check how many are still in use, anyone remember how to do it?
