The 1200 des not have a fuse box, it uses a Can Bus system hence no fuses.

The GSA fuse box is used solely for the optional fog lights from memory.

You have to take your tank off to find it ....

It doesn't bother with fuses to save weight.

It just lets you down at the roadside instead and the recovery truck does the rest.

I considered that, but thought that no-one, not even Ducati would be THAT stupid. So, after people posting that it doesn't have one (and doubting them) I again. Properly this time .

No fuse box. Well, bugger my old boots, as my old gran used to say. One less thing to worry about I suppose. From what I deduce in the manual, it IS fused, but with electronic fuses, that reset once the fault is fixed. A bit like in a household consumer unit.

I shall have to fit somekind of fuse box when I start fitting accessories I guess. Now WHERE should I hide it??????

In-line fuses old boy, that's the way to go, nice and easy lemon squeezy. Unless of course you're intending to turn the bike in the Starship Enterprise and include photon torpedos etc etc.

GS / GSA without auxiliary lights does not have a fuse box.

If you have the factory fit aux lights, then there is a small fuse box. This is located on the RHS of the fuel tank, covered by a plastic trim panel.

Why?

If none of the other components fitted to you bike need a fuse box, why might something you add need one?

Unless you need to:

(A) Draw more than five amps, in which case you will need a relay.

(B) Connect the add-on direct to the battery, when you will need a suitable fuse.

Why fit fuses??

Because paranoia stops me from burning my bike to the ground. I don't like to see an unfused wire.

I mostly fit relays as well. Belt & Braces, and all that......
