Hi, got a couple of days off this week and wanted to ride from Southern Vermont to Northern Maine. Where should I go.............? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

and you are posting in the UK forum, why?

Maybe he thinks we'd have a unique insight into a route :nenau

I'd cross into NH at Colebrook, go to the wonderful new bakery there, head south for a while to Lincoln, just as an excuse to ride over the Kangamancus Highway. From Conway, it's just a long slog north to Maine, but keep going, the area right up round Katadhin, Eagle Lake and Fort Kent is well worth a visit.
Then you could tiptoe home along the Canadian border.

Ogunquit Beach and Perkins Cove

If you like the beach I would head to Ogunquit Beach. Long sandy beach and not busy. Part of the beach has an American feel, large people in loud clothing pulling mobile fridge's behind them. The further you walk along it has a French Canadian feel which is more familiar to Europeans.

The water is cold but popular with body boarders.

If you like waterfront, shops etc I would suggest Perkins Cove.

Agree with Snodog, Mt Katadhin is worth a visit and IIRC the highest peak on the East Coast. :thumb2
