I was just wondering if people who hat fitted supplimentary fog lights, where you had the switch mounted.
I am planning to fit a set of FF75 driving lights operated off one of Rob Farmers switches and the going to put a set of Micro De fogs, all on a lovely migsel bar.. the question is,, where do you put the switch?

Photos and suggestions would be nice.. I saw a ADv with a toggle switch drilled/screwed into the side of the beak, for a TT fog set....

Robs motoswitch uses the indicator cancel switch as the on/off for any extra lights you fit, you hold it down for a second -they come on, you hold it down again they go off.

And it works extremely well......all you have to think about is where to mount the LED....mine's pointing towards me on the right hand switch gear...close to the cancel switch 'cos that sorta makes sense.......

move it under the instuments, you dont want the cable to be constantly flexing,
i drilled a hole next to the RID and it pokes out from there.

Hey Rocks

What till Sunday and I'll show you mine.....oh er Matron!

Wire your FF75's via the main beam feed, hence no need for any switches, main beam on, FF75's on.

Then use Robs most excellant switch to control the Micro DE's, its that easy?

I mounted my LED here, but unless Rob has extended the cable you will need to do this first.

Do you mean where to put the module that does the switching, if so then Rob suggests in the fuse box BUT some users have experienced a problem when its warm weather due to the heat of the module in operation causing their indicators to be intermittent, I haven't experienced this with mine BUT i mounted mine up in the headlamp assy where it gets cooled.

This module generates some heat in operation so mount it somewhere dry and ventilated, around the connectors under the tank would also be a good place AND SOLDER all the connections.

It works like a charm.

Clarity..

Hi Guys,
Sorry seems some confusion..

My original setup plan was this.

1 TT xenon headlamp replacement unit for main beam running off the main and dip switch.

1 Set of FF75 driving lights set to switch on and off with one of rob farmers switches

1 set of DE micro fogs for when the weather is really bad.. and these to be have their own switch somewhere..

However the wiring suggestion to have the FF75 wired into the dip and the fogs running off Robs switch, would do.

I am going to try the FF75 first before committing to the £300 main beam replacement.. well thats the plan anyhow.

I am hoping to be impressed by the extra light the FF75's give and so may be able to get away without the xenon,, but then it would be nice to be able to blast the cagers back from time to time.. just not sure if its £300 worth of nice...

You need to wire the FF75's into the main beam circuit not the dip beam.

If you ride at night with the FF75's powered from the dip beam, you will have to have them angled so far down so as to avoid dazzling others they will not be effective.

The DE's however can be powered from the dip circuit (via Robs switch) without a problem and can be angled quite high without any problems.

BTW, did I mention my fees as a lighting consultant?
