I'm just about to change the alternator on my GS from the Denso one to a new 50amp Bosch one , I've got all the bits ready but can anyone tell me the non BMW part number of the belt for the Bosch alternator.
I know the Denso one is a 4/611 or equivalent but is the Bosch one longer or shorter and what is its number ?

I would think the factor ought to be able to crossmatch from the 4/611, the 4 means 4 ribs and the 611 means 611mm long :thumb2

My Bosch belt is a 611, 1999 model.

The other belt you ask about is shorter. It's a non adjustable belt.

You can use the 611mm belt with any of the alternators.

In fact, if you've an ADV tank with a late alternator and short belt you'll have fun and games trying to get the fuel link pipe through the almost non existant gap between alternator and engine. Simpler to fit the longer 611 and adjust it.

Now you tell me :)
