As the subject, which battery charger is recommended?

Do i stump up £65 for the BMW one or is there a pattern one that is better and/or does the job as well and/or makes the coffee at the same time?

I see a lot of talk about Optimate, is that the Daddy?

Cheers Graeme

optimate seems to be the popular choice. i have 3 of these which work well.

Ferk me. Airflow want a tenner for a lead to plug into an accessory socket.

fortunately my batteries don't go flat when fitted, so i don't need the plug ;)

Optimate

I have used the Optimate on all of my bikes for years without any problems. Good kit!

I have a couple of Gunson Battery Charger Automatics which I have used on my bikes for the past 12 years. Cheaper than the Optimate. Got mine from CCC a camping/ caravanning shop, they can be left connected to stored batteries automatically checking and topping them up. Fitted a BMW style plug (which CCC sold for about £5) I can just plug it in to the accessory socket and leave it.

I have all my bikes hooked up to Optimates, and recommend them.

Bought an Optimate from Steptoe a few months back. It works great, the lights come on and the plug fits the one on my garage wall exactly.

I've found my battery has never let me down since buying it.

I might try conecting it to the battery one day but as yet it seems to work fine sitting in it's box on the shelf.

:)
