Which de-cat headers

Which de-cat headers to fit 09 gs with mo-tech crash bars and original tail pipe.

Advice greatly appreciated.

Tks

Jack

Akro or Keihans as they retain the link pipe. Not sure about capatiblity with your crash bars though. Alternatively just get the cat taken out of your original headers for the same effect.

How do you take the cat out? Would that not leave a large chamber?

Never done it myself but I think the removal of the cat even leaving the large chamber gives you the same effect as aftermarket headers.

Bods weld them up for less than 100 notes you basically can't tell the diff with the original setup apart from improved performance.

People ..... This is the route I would take as you could buy a cheap set of orginal headers off eBay - gut them and keep yours for when you sell the bike at very little overall cost.

Wouldnt bother cutting and welding. Just twat the middle out with a Cold chisel and Lump Hammer :rolllaugh

I have a cheaper set without the link pipe, they seemed to smooth out the midrange a tad.

Considered modding OEM pipes, but as I paid £100 for these thingies (secind hand) and could flog them on for about the same at a later date it seemed like a no brainer, but they're only £180 new, not sure paying twice as much for a top brand will give much better results :nenau On the other hand they ain't the prettiest - pays yer money :blagblah

Where dya get em

Mine came from this forum, they crop up now and again if you ain''t in a hurry, mine may well be up for sale in the next 3-6 months as I plan to change bikes this year.

There used to be ones like mine new on E-Bay for about £180 a pop.

I was going to go down the route of taking out the cat from the origional pipes but in the end bought a second hand set of remus headers off here for £150, they work well ands the bike is soo much smoother with them fitted, ok I lost the link pipe but it does not seem to effect the bike at all.

Hi Jack I have an 05 gs with Motard headers, I could get the motech crash bars on but they touch the down pipes, I bought the Motard down pipes from Busters new for £195.00 :aidan

What purpose does the link pipe serve on the OEM or aftermarket headers

When I sold my remus headers and put the oe back on I noticed no difference whatsoever :D

Ya pays ya money ;)
