Are we talking a local normal ride or further afield?

I just get on the bike and go if i'm out for the day! Guess I need to get my panniers out and get in my order for a kitchen sink etc.......

Bit more practical ?

Bit of oil for top-ups
Ring antenna and spare key (swap the torx for allen screws on front plate)
Jump leads for fuel pump controller
Puncture repair kit inc mini CO2 bottles
Torx bits (hey BMW _ whats wrong with allen screws ?)
Cable ties, etc etc

This is a fun game :thumb2

Tool roll: the only tools I use to work on the bike are in this tool roll. Any time I work on the bike, if I don't have the right tool it gets added to the roll. I'm working on the idea that if I keep doing this I'll have a good set that will cover 90% of what might go wrong when away on a trip anywhere. I don't carry the torque wrench and I don't have big workshop tools, but most other things I can fix with this set if I need to.

Tool roll also contains spare fuses, some wire, spare indicator bulb (used to carry a spare rear bulb but now have one of techno's led rear lights and I have hid headlights), cloth, latex gloves, hand cleaner, epoxy, jbweld, zipties. Keys have a micro light on them.

Puncture repair kit is in the tool roll.

small 12v compressor.

Used the puncture kit for the first time a few weeks ago when I found a screw in the tyre and it was going down. a few minutes at the side of the road with the repair kit and I'm on my way again without having to wait a couple of hours for a breakdown truck.

I keep an AA card in my wallet and always have my phone.

GPS lives in the topbox along with a couple of tie down straps and a bungee net, a biro and some paper in case I need to take anyone's details in the event of an accident.

As above on tour, normally have a few cable ties and some gaffa tape handy on foreign journey's.

Very little on run out, always have earplugs and cable ties under seat, and always have a retractasafe and map in top box.

Bike's on-board toolkit.
Stuff left in my little 'Vern' topbox from my last long trip (which despite my best intentions, stay in the box)*
Emergency £20 note.

Breakdown cards, mobile etc are always in my wallet / on my person, so don't count.
