I'm looking to get a Sat Nav with Bluetooth and want to know where I can get a suitable set of Bluetooth headphones.

I've looked around on Flea-bay and they all seem to be the ones with the microphone which I'm not bothered about as I don't particularly want to use my phone on the bike.

All I want is to be able to hear the SAT NAv instructions. Is there a headset which is bluetooth without the microphone? Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Alternatively, if there is no such thing I guess an ordinary pair of headphones (ear buds) that plug into the unit would be suitable. Again, anyone use any that they would recommend?

Thanks

Before buying anything make sure that the sav-nav and headphones will connect to each other. The only Garmins that will connect to headphones via Bluetooth are the 2820 and Zumo 550. I don't know about other makes but the manufacturer's websites should tell you what you need to know.

Etymotic ER6i earphones work very well for me.
Comfortable and as they are hardwired not bluetooth you get stereo sound.

Only downside is you occasionally forget and pull the wire out of the plug by getting off the bike and forgetting about you are still connected - but no damage so far.

Having used a Scala Rider headset and an Autocom I would suggest forgetting Bluetooth completely.

If you have a satnav with audio out, e.g. Zumo, 2720, 2820 there is a standard 3.5 mm socket so just use in ear headphones or if you are flush, purpose made plugs with headphones or a wired comms system such as Autocom.

My experience with Bluetooth (on crap Tomtom Rider and great Zumo) is poor sound quality and the need to remember to recharge - which is not always convenient when touring. Using headphones means much better sound quality, no recharging needed and, unless you go for moulded plugs or Autocom, its a lot cheaper. Just take a 3.5mm extension lead from the satnav to somewhere around the seat and plug headphones in.
