WHICH ONE ????????

Having sold my GS i want to get a KTM but which one ????? 950 or 990 sm /smt ???? the only thing thats concerns me is i might use the bike to do a bit of touring so i don"t want to be watching the fuel light at 80 miles ,what tank range with normal riding should i expect ? will a 950 sm do the same job as a newer smt ??? any thoughts ,cheers

950 SM is rawer and more fun than the SMT . You could do short tours , but that seat needs a gel insert. Tank range I used to get 110 miles until the light came on , more than enough considering the seat

Either way you will haver a fun bike which in the 950's case will have you riding like a **** enjoy

The sm has carbs and smt is fuel injection if that makes any difference to you.

One of my riding pals has the smt he's got the ktm luggage with it and a touring screen he loves it we went to Spain last year and no probs at all little bit of oil used I doubt you could do that sort of trip comfortable on the sm, but if it's for hooning around the sm fits the bill.

Hi, I have recently just bought an SMT, 3 weeks ago. I previously had a Multi 1200, before that a GS.
I did post a long post about my recent trip but the site went down and its dissapeared, bummer.
I had the same problem as you, which one? But I chose the SMT and am very happy, it needs a bigger screen for touring is all.
I will re-post my experience of it when I get the time.
Oh, mine is 2012 in white, but changes afoot for colour!
