Hello.

I am after advice on 2 things.

1. I am looking at feeding a camera via a usb lead from the power socket at the front on the bike.

There are various plug adapters on fleabay.

Can you recommend one?

2. I wish to mount the camera via a RAM ball which replaces the bolt next to the front right indicator lamp.

There seems to be a couple of RAM Balls with different thread pitches.

Again, can you recommend one to me?

Thanks

JT

Can only use the above charging lead on gopro when it's out of its plastic housing.. Ie not mounted to bike..

Wrong there's a back door with slot cut out on the left side, think it's called the skeleton housing. Alternatively drill a hole in side of housing to accommodate the USB plug.

I strongly recommend using a right angle USB as otherwise you may damage the socket onboard the camera

Which action cam...? If its a sony you can only power off a charged battery not from a power lead. I know mate.. i got one.

You're right on that score. I've got Sony action cam as well. I was referring to the GoPro

I find the battery life on the Sony is better than the GoPro.

I have just fitted 2 of these to my GS. Cheap and they work very well. www.innovv.com the C3 1080 HD model. About US$125 each, then buy a 12V to USB adaptor and a $5 waterproof housing to put the recorder in (lenses are waterproof and have a 1.5M cable. Install and forget, starts recording with ignition on. Uses a micro SD card.

I use a DIN plug with 2 USB sockets - found on tinternet - in the accessory socket to power my Drift HD Ghost S. It works fine.

Bought one from Nippy Norms in the end.

Looks just what I want.

If the salt and ice go away I might be able to see if it works!
