..... do I need to mount onto the back of my rider 2 touratech mgv mount in order to use it with my Ram gear?

Rider 2 has a square base plate with four fix holes (AMPS pattern). AFAIK, Touratech cradles , with the clamp clips (from underside removed) will pick up on the diamond base (RAM-B-238) which has a two fix holes pattern.
