Well, it pays to ask! Thank you for that, Bumpkin, it never occurred to me that I would be listening to it rather than watching it.

I think that calls for an appropriate smilie.

:blast

To resume thicko mode: Bluetooth, this is a wireless connection from your helmet to a GPS or a mobile, right? From what I read in the specification I can make mobile calls with the Zumo 550, do they mean that I can do so without a mobile phone or is that still needed?

And, finally, is it possible to download the locations of bioethanol(?) stations in the South of France ready for my holiday (in a car) later this year?

2610. They're as cheap as chips these days :thumb2

I bought one off someone on the site earlier last week, it has all the European mapping, car mount, bike mount (Ram) and all the leads and bits and bobs, 18 months old for £170, and by my reckoning thats less than 1/2 the price of a Zumo :thumb

It seems very easy to use, and that from someone who hadn't ever switched a satnav on untill 2 days ago.

i dont think so.prices are on the way up.
sold one last night via ebay, that i part ex'd a zumo for.it sold for £211.00
which is more than i just paid for one of the last new 2720's.:)
and i have a like new spare 2610 that i'm keeping. :thumb

S'funny init?. I thought my 2610 was pants so I sold it within a couple of months. I found mapsource difficult to navigate round and I more often than not knew a better route than the one it sent me on. I've tested a becker model and that was really good to use, gave good directions, was easier to follow, but not waterproof. I think Tom Tom's in general are much more user friendly. Still not made up my mind whether to try again or stick to old fashioned maps.:rob

StreetPilot 111

Hi Baron, we bumped into each other at The Heathcote Arms when you asked about my GPS.

I've been using an ancient Garmin StreetPilot 3 for about 4 years now & although peolple tell me it's too slow I think it's fantastic.

I was in the car when I saw you & I showed you the beanbag mount for use in the car. Great mount & it doesn't move about at all. On the bike I use a RAM mount & have transferred my GPS between 3 bikes, currently using it between 2 bikes & my car.

Just upgraded the mapping too to the latest 2008 edition for about £41. ($88.12) Good news is these old SP3's go for peanuts now, I bought a 2nd unit for £45 c/w a data card worth at least £35! :D

That's my opinion, :type see you on the 27th?

Phil.
