My OEM Exhaust has just popped it's baffles after a very hard ride. Now at 36,000 miles and don't want an OEM again.:clap

So which one should I get then?:nenau

Up's, downs, and lots of pictures please?:thumb2

Although, if you want a noticeable difference in performance get a full system as ditching the CAT makes more difference than replacing just the can.

Went for an Akropovic slip on. Same noise level as the OEM with the removable baffle in. With it out it's not unacceptabley loud, much deeper sound and burbles when you come down through the gears like a mean machine. Just a hint of more power but nothing to write home about. Power mid to upper is more responsive. Looks good to....:augie

...Remus have a new can. I think it's called Hexacone for obvious reasons.
Full Carbon
Part Carbon/ Titanium
or Titanium.....

All road legal they look and sound cool- I hear.......:bounce1

They are also in the Toratech brochure...but at rrp.

Fitted to an R rather than a GS but you get the idea. :D

I seriously like the look of that can but previous experience of a titanium Remus on my bike put me off it. Had it fitted for a week before I took it off as the drone when riding was bloody annoying.:spitfire

Just for those wondering what a stock can sounds like with a set of Remus headers fitted (IMPO the best value for money exhaust upgrade you can have is ditching the cat) heres a video of that very thing.

i have a huge subwoofer under my bench. The mouse has just shook off the table!
That is with the standard baffle removed I presume?

What if you kept the BMW pipes and Cut out the cat, would it still sound like that.

Ty :nenau

Should do, I know a local Tosser who removed the cat from his stock headers so maybe he can confirm it.

Only thing I would say is he had the services of a friendly welder to open and lose the casing and a downside would be you could fall foul of emissions tests in the future.

If you use aftermarket headers you always have th original available if required.

Fair Point

Has anyone had any experience of removing the can altogether and replacing it with a stubby onto the cat?

Seen it on some 1150's on here but never a 12 so wondered what the implications would be.

Funds are such that I'm lucky to hold on to the bike at the moment so any mods are limited.

Don't want to cause meltdown!

Not seen it done on a 12 but have fired up a 12 without the can connected (by mistake officer honest) and it's a damn site louder than an 11 with a stubby I can tell you!
