Having just bought my 2002 GSA, I want to furnish myself with the right tools for on the road repairs. Does anyone know what size I need for:

Spark plug spanner?
Torx for brake calipers?
Any other essential tools recommended (other than a 17mm socket)?

Thanks,

Those tools should be in the bikes tool kit.

As to what other tools you need, what repairs do you have in mind doing "on the road".

Sell him a tool box!.

Steptoe,

Tyre off for a repait, so 17mm socket and a torx (not sure what size torx?)
Plug out if bike ever gets drowned (not sure what size plug?)

and that's probably about it, unless there are other common failures that need specific tools?

Thanks,

GSA

Get a plug spanner from here (site) or from a bm dealers, you will also
require a special BM tool for pulling off the ht lead this is essential.
Join the RAC (oops, sorry thought it was a1200!).

Torx for brake calipers is T55. For rear wheel you'll also need a breaker bar for the 4 nuts and a torque wrench which can handle 220nm.

Special tool for the HT lead - really? Can't you just yank it off (as i have done already)?

Have you actually looked under the seat,as there should be one strapped to it, the seat that is, not the bike ?
:D

Where do you need a 220nm Torque Wrench on the road? Rear wheel bolt torque on an 1150 is 105nm (77ft lbs).

Re: plug spanner - knock an old 3/8" drive socket down the end until it's flush & then weld it in place through the holes on the side that the bar passes through. Allows you to torque the plugs, still fits in the tool tray.
