I'll be fitting off road tyres to my '16 Adv in a few months to use in Wales. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking at either TKC80s or Karoo3s. I've riden the ORS bikes last year fitted with the Karoo3s and was quite impressed with the levels of grip. I'm thinking the TKCs will be gripier but may have higher wear rates, has anyone fitted both?
Also thinking of running a TKC front and Karoo3 rear for longevity.

I have run Karoo 3's on a GS through a winter commuting and off road. They're OK if you adjust to their limitations on the road. Didn't like TKC80's for their lack of grip on wet roads. I'm currently on TKC70's and they are more road biased than either K3 or the 80's. all that said my next set are going to be Anakee Wilds as I've heard good things about them. Not sure if any of that helps.

Thanks for the info on the new Anakees, I remember hearing of them now and will look at them also. I've had TKc80s on other bikes and know they're not great on wet roads

I got 3000 miles from a Karoo 3 rear on my 16 ADV, it was a good 50/50 tyre, but in the wet slippy stuff I didn't feel confident with the front. Have just fitted a second Anakee wild the first lasted 3400 miles and has about a 1000 miles left in it. I prefer the Anakee wilds for off road and the Karoo for on road. In the dry there is not much difference off road, the Anakee has the edge, in the wet on road the Karoo has the edge - in my opinion any way. Have not tried TKC on 1200 however the best combination on my 800gs was TKC front Mitas E09 Dakar rear.

It's always good to hear opinions of others. The Anakee Wilds are getting good reviews and going by the prices on ebay are the cheapest.
