I'm back on the bike for the majority of the time again for work, but need to look for a new set of waterproof trousers. (my Savannahs now leak like a sieve in places!)

Because I have very limited drying facilities at work, I wanted something that will stay in the pannier until it chucks it down. I have a Belstaff rain coat (thick pvc type thing) which is great to bung over my jacket; now I need something for my pins!

Hopefully it will be very easy to put on over the top of trousers (hip length zip??), a bit hard wearing (not throw away after a week) and not stupidly expensive.

All else fails, I could land up buying some Streetguard 2 trousers for £200+ by the end of the week!! :(

Any recommendations??

Another vote for cheap exarmy goretex troos - adventure and surplus do british issue ones for £25. You look a bit suspicious wearing them off the bike but they are very waterproof.

Don't bother with any of the cheap nylon trousers or oversuits - they always leak around the crotch after a very short period of time.

Best ever were Baleno 'flexothane' stuff but no longer available....
