No I am not connected with the AA, but I did help design the AA Fuel Assist vehicles. Up until recently we did not have anyone operating in the area, but now we do.

Nigel Baggs on 07738 791025 who is based in Solihull, or the Central Number is 0870 240

Please feel free to pass these details around to anyone you know in the
area, hopefully it will never happen to you. But if it does, trust me, this
is the cheapest and quickest option!

Now that link is really interesting thanks Cookie. That should cause a good old shake up on Monday morning, because the AA are certainly not aware of these people.

But I see that they only have 6 vehicles though, while the AA currently have 20 on the road, plus they have just ordered another 12 for 2008 for us.

I also see that there are no testimonials yet. :nenau

I put less than 3 litres of unleaded into the 90 litre diesel tank of our BMW X5 at work. Drove it half a mile back to base. Although workshops said it would probably be OK, they spoke to BMW as it was still under warranty. BMW said that although the engine (3 ltr turbo diesel) would be OK, the sensors wouldn't and to drain the tank, change both fuel filters and refill tank!

At least I didn't have to pay. Just got a written warning from the discipline dept. :ymca

OK Honesty Moment. It happened to me last Friday night.

Rolled onto Oxford services at 17:30 Friday night.
Pulled upto the premium unleaded pump.
Proceed to fill the tank up (1200ADV with the range left indicator showing less than 10 miles).
Have a little daydream to myself about what would you do if you got confused on a French petrol station and Inadvertently put diesel in your tank because of the confusing labels.
Re-adjust the nozzle position to reset the auto cutout and continue to fill until you've got £34 worth of the wrong fuel in your tank.

Realised what I'd done when I put the nozzle back, but I must have subconsciously know what I was doing.

Got myself recovered to a dealers for an empty and flush out on Saturday morning.
I'm amazed I made the mistake seeing as I never use diesel, ever!
BUt every one tells me how common it is.
