Bike is 800 miles old and has developed a fault which requires it to be off the road for 24hrs. whilst gearbox is removed !

Anyone got any GOOD complaint sources at BMW please as I want to go to the top?

Thanks

Don't be too hasty. They're fixing it for you aren't they and presumably you'll get a loan bike for 24hrs? Time to start complaining is if it keeps going wrong or you get bad service.

John, i take it that it's in at Rainbow. :nenau

I'd give Shaun and the rest a chance to put right something that presumably isn't their fault. If after that you don't feel satisfied then a letter to whoever may bring you some 'goodwill' that you can cash in at a later date IF anything else goes wrong.

That's what i'd do, especially at award winning Rainbow. :thumb

thanks..

...for the advice.

Rainbow are sorting it - as they always do.

I guess the waiting game is the way to go

John,

I guess your miffed today so hopefully thay gave you a decent bike to play with while you wait for yours.

What was the fault with your bike? I also bought one of the last 1150 GSA's, I've now got 1,300 miles on mine with 'touching wood' no issues at all.

Cheers.

Surprised the the 1200 doom vultures haven't started circling yet.... :D

.....assuming that's what it is.

Look on the right hand side of the engine at the vertical joint between engine and gearbox. If you can see any oil trace then the output shaft seal is shagged and will contaminate the clutch in time. Needs the whole of the rear end of the bike to be removed for replacement seal to be fitted.

Deep joy at 800 miles and this is after the 600 service when the technician couldn't get the throttle bodies to balance 'cos the gaskets between the cylinder heads and throttle bodies were porous!!!

Just glad I've got an exceptional dealer :bow
