Get him to tar it first, then when(if) he does, give him yer vote. I feel it may be the next election yer lookin at though, not this one :D

got a flyer in the door yesterday. An independant lad looking for the European vote and pledged to donate half his €100,000 a year salary to charity.

It's easy, Flash.
Don't re-elect any of present encumbents.

I have long thought that no politician should be allowed to sit for anymore that 2 consecutive full terms of office, and that no family member of a sitting politican, or of one who has been a politican, should be allowed to stand until a period equal to 2 terms of office has past.

Politics should be a form of public service, not a career.
They should be recompensed, while in office, for their loss of earnings in the career that they put on hold.
Many of the present incompetents inherited their seats, Cowen, Lenihan, Haughey, Flynn, Healey-Rae et al, and have few have other skills than to bullshite.

Who to vote for.

Here in the north of Ireland, we have proportional representation for most elections.
Those of you unfortunate enought to live on GB only have this privelege for european elections.

I vote as follows:
No. 1 Candidate most likely to lose their deposit in first round.
No.2 Candidate most likely to be excluded in second round.
and, in order of increasing dislike, all of the remaining candidates.
(Lots of them here)

That way, around middle count, my (if I have one) preferred candidate will get my transfer when it is most needed.

I would not think my method is poplular with the people doing the counting, but it is a careful use of Proportional representation.
