Well tell me. Is it just based on looks, or is it the same old bm thing about older models being better?

perhaps it's just due to 1000RTs being cheaper than 1100RTs? You tell me, please.

Less technology so easier to have a go at mending yourself,
and the less technology means you can do most jobs without too many special tools / hoists etc etc
lighter and smaller so easier to move around the garage / if you go off road,
well before LWR / LWD so you don't look like every Euan / Charlie wanabee,
you can thrash one as with so few bhp you have to work at going fast and keeping the speed up.

Downside is the newer technology can be usefull, eg ABS as they have brakes that work well out of the box without having to upgrade them.

How long is a piece of string ?

R1100 wiring harness is just awesome in its complexity etc etc..whilst we have red and black ones on a R100 :D

R100 airheads are cracking bikes...but for quickly covering distances, the
R1100 is a better bike. I aim to have one of each...perfection:)

Airheads have a massive following:bounce1

BTW I've a 100 and 1100. SWMBO doesn't like the lack of view she has on the 100, so that's why I've a 1100 now as well :)

Picking up on my earlier comment, anybody can go fast on a 1200, but to go fast on a 100, that takes some effort :)

How much does it cost to go the route of changing a800 to 1000, I know this can be done, does it "just" involve changing the barrells and pistons, and swapping jets in carbs?

Bevel boxes are a different ratio as well you also need a speedo to match the bevel box
