why do the ADV look so much better than plain GS?

My answer was to raise the seat - had mine stripped then rebuilt with an extra 4" of foam. so now.. uncompressed its a 38" seat height. I can still get my feet flat on the floor (just).

I did have shocks built to order a few years ago and had them over specified. which works for me.


and when I need to take a pillion - my take on the single piece ADV seat... its actually a modified TT XXH seat:

Get an 1100, add an adventure tank and RT alloys and you have the best of them all.

That is a lovely looking machine . An alloy topbox would finish it off nicely.

Still want to make mine taller. Am 6ft and I can sit with my feet flat so not sure if its got a lower seat.

Yes, but you'll need quite a few bungee cords to hold it onto the rear rack...
