My answer was to raise the seat - had mine stripped then rebuilt with an extra 4" of foam. so now.. uncompressed its a 38" seat height. I can still get my feet flat on the floor (just).
I did have shocks built to order a few years ago and had them over specified. which works for me.

and when I need to take a pillion - my take on the single piece ADV seat... its actually a modified TT XXH seat:

. An alloy topbox would finish it off nicely.
