All the time, I do a search for an address and 'No items found'

I then zoom in on the map and there it is.

Try this one:

St Margarets Road, St Margarets Bay, CT15 6EG
or this one
Hay Lane, Ham, CT14 0DZ
or
Granary Court Road, Smeeth, TN25 6RF

I know they exist because I've been there and I can see it on the MapSource map, but Find/Address refuses to find it.

Google maps finds them all without problems.

Mapsource is shite at finding addresses, but there is a knack to it. In fact, these days I reckon I can find 90% of the addresses I look for.

Try searching on just "St" then scroll down the list to the one you want. :thumb2

one bit of syntax wrong and it gives up. try searching Margaret?

multi word french towns are the worst. mapsource insists on hyphens where there should be none.

There's defo. a knack to understanding the way Mapsource 'thinks' and the more I use it the less often that happens.........even so, there are still times when I can't find something I know to be there :nenau

Well here's one for you all...

Search this postcode: SG4 7AJ - there are two entries on the database Garmin use...

Both in Mill Lanes Nr Hitchin Herts... But they are 7 miles apart if you check !!

According to Streetmap CT15 6EG is actually in St Margarets at Cliffe, which Mapsource finds straight away.

You have to think flexibly with Mapsource or you're sunk.

I certainly agree about finding French streets.
The French are none too precise. A Hotel might declare on its website that it's in Avenue X but in fact it's in Rue X according to Guide Michelin and Mapsource.

You are right! Why is not better by now. I was frustrated with MapSource I've given up with Road Trip (Mac version) - virtually unusable due to speed and now use Garmin Basecamp and its better but....
I've checked out these links on it and it finds the last two fine but does not find St Margarets Bay only St Margarets at Cliffe. As has been said 'Crap' or words to that effect. No doubt someone will reply and say: "Ah yes but look at how well it does other things!" as they have to my previous postings when less enamoured with Garmin's quality. Sorry Guys but I just think it should work. Bad programming. Nothing else.

Found it straight off the bat via a post code search.... :nenau

Near enough the same spot as Google maps turned up, too.

It also finds St Margarets Rd in St Margarets, via the address tab.

It did thought struggle when I spelt it St Margrets by mistake.

I found that looking for st .... street here in Holland i had to enter "saint" rather than "st"

Either way mapsource is a bit medieval. There are so many simple features that would be easy to put into the program and easy ways to improve it you wonder what the hell they do at Garmin R&D?
